We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Construction Manager to join our team and support the successful delivery of residential construction and infrastructure-related projects.


Position Summary

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction activities across multiple projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will coordinate contractors, consultants, inspections, and project stakeholders while maintaining strong administrative controls and customer-focused communication.

This role requires a hands-on professional who can effectively balance project oversight, contract administration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management & Coordination
    • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, inspections, and material deliveries.
    • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to approved schedules and budgets.
    • Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
    • Maintain project quality standards and ensure timely completion of work.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections as required.
  • Contract Administration
    • Administer construction contracts and related documentation.
    • Review and process contractor payment applications.
    • Manage contract variations and change orders.
    • Monitor contractor performance and prepare contractor evaluations.
    • Certify project completion and assist with project closeout activities.
  • Technical & Operational Oversight
    • Assess construction-related issues and prepare scopes of work.
    • Develop cost estimates and projections for remedial and additional works.
    • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
    • Monitor adherence to workplace health and safety standards and established policies.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare detailed reports, project updates, and supporting documentation.
    • Maintain accurate project records and administrative files.
    • Track project milestones and provide timely status updates to management.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Liaise professionally with contractors, consultants, homeowners, and other stakeholders.
    • Respond to customer concerns and construction-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
    • Promote a positive customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.


Qualifications and Experience

Required
  • Degree, Diploma, or professional qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in construction management, project management, site supervision, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction practices and contract administration.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s licence, own transportation, and willingness to travel to project sites across Barbados.
Preferred
  • Experience within residential housing developments.
  • Familiarity with construction quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.
